🥜🍫 Sweeten your mornings or add a nutty twist to your afternoon snack with this indulgent chocolate peanut butter granola recipe. Made with natural peanut butter, cocoa powder, and packed with healthy oats, enjoy as a morning parfait, bowl of cereal, or even it as a healthy sweet treat at any time of day!
It's no secret that Dan's favorite sweet treat is anything with chocolate and peanut butter. Reese's peanut butter cups are hands down his favorite candy, and every year I make him a chocolate dutch baby with peanut butter drizzle on his birthday (I should probably share that recipe...coming soon 😂!). But I was trying to figure out what to do in the meantime...Something sweet but not overly sugary, and at least have some kind of healthy aspect...Aha! Chocolate peanut butter granola for the win.

What You'll Need
This chocolate peanut butter granola is vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free! However, it can be easy to to grab the wrong ingredients and wind up with animal/milk product or gluten in your batch. But not to worry! Make sure to grab these three things and you'll be all set.
- Gluten-free rolled oats - This is the only kind I buy. Quaker Oats and Bob's Red Mill both have great options for this!
- Natural peanut butter - Regular peanut butter has a bunch of additives in it, sometimes including "natural flavoring" which can include weird animal products. Stick with the simple stuff that is literally just processed peanuts.
- Dairy free chocolate chips, if desired - The cocoa powder should already be dairy free (there is definitely a difference in hot chocolate powder and cocoa powder by the by) so if you feel like adding chocolate chips, Ghirardelli has a great dairy free semi-sweet bag.
How To Serve This Recipe
One of my favorite things about granola is how many different ways you can enjoy it! For this particular iteration, here a few ideas for how to serve chocolate peanut butter granola:
1. On-the-go Snack: Pack a small container of your granola and munch on it throughout the day. The combination of crunchy oats, rich chocolate, and nutty peanut butter will keep you sweet tooth satisfied!
2. Yogurt Parfait: Layer your favorite yogurt with a generous sprinkle of this chocolate peanut butter granola. It adds a delightful crunch to the creamy yogurt.
3. Smoothie Booster: An interesting one but delicious! Blend your granola into a smoothie to add some extra texture and flavor, particularly a chocolate banana protein shake or a dark chocolate date smoothie.
4. Smoothie Bowl: OR if you've got a little extra time to eat, just take those same smoothies and turn them into a smoothie bowl, sprinkled with the granola for extra yums!
5. Breakfast Cereal: Enjoy your chocolate peanut butter granola the classic way. Pour a generous serving into a bowl, and simply add your favorite milk. A delightful way to start your morning!
