These easy ham and cheese pinwheels are flaky, buttery, and filled with layers of ham and melty cheese, all wrapped up in golden puff pastry. They come together with just a handful of ingredients and minimal prep-just roll, slice, and bake. Perfect for Easter brunch, last-minute hosting, or an easy snack!

I absolutely love hosting Easter brunch, but I just cannot get behind serving a giant hunk of ham as the main event. It's just… not my thing 😅. I'd much rather take the same , savory flavor and turn them into something a little more fun and easy to eat (like my Ham Breakfast Casserole or these Ham Spinach Pastries). Ergo, ham and cheese pinwheels!
They're easy, crowd-friendly, and way more fun to eat (and honestly, way cuter on a brunch table). Plus, those crispy edges with all that melty cheese… they won't last long, trust me!

Tips & Tricks
For perfectly golden ham and cheese pinwheels:
- Keep the pastry cold - If it gets too soft, pop it in the fridge, especially before slicing
- Don't overfill - Too much filling makes rolling tricky
- Slice with a sharp, serrated knife - This keeps the spirals neat and pretty
- Chill before baking - About 20 minutes helps them hold their shape
- Watch the bake time - You're looking for golden brown and bubbly cheese

Variations & Substitutions
Change up the cheese: Gruyère, provolone, or pepper jack all work well
Add a little sweetness: A thin layer of honey or fig jam pairs deliciously with the ham!
Make it vegetarian: Skip the meat and substitute with roasted veggies like mushrooms, asparagus, and spinach.
Spice it up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a swipe of spicy mustard

FAQs
Yes! Assemble and slice them, then store covered in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking.
It's best to freeze them before baking. Place sliced pinwheels on a baking sheet, freeze until solid, then transfer to a bag. Bake straight from frozen (just add a few extra minutes).
This usually happens if the pastry is too warm. Chill the rolled log before slicing and baking to help them hold their shape. Also, a little bit of Dijon mustard or a little egg wash can help seal the edges!
