The Lavender Lemonade
This will come as a surprise to absolutely nobody, but one of my all-time favorite flavor combos is lavender and lemon 🤩. The thing I actually find surprising? The fact that I haven't made lavender lemonade before!
Turns out, there's a few different ways to make it. I went the lavender simple syrup and homemade lemonade mixture route. Whip up the syrup, let it brew, pop it in the refrigerator to chill, and squeeze some fresh lemon juice into a pitcher over ice. Add water, stir in the syrup and boom! Lavender lemonade 💜.
P.S. Don't believe my obsession with this combo? My assortment of lemon lavender recipes should prove otherwise!
What You'll Need
Grab these key ingredients to whip up your own boozy lavender lemonade cocktail!
- Granulated white sugar - For the homemade simple syrup!
- Culinary lavender buds - I used about 3 tablespoons for my syrup infusion.
- Lots of water - 5 ½ cups of water to be precise.
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Your favorite Gin
- A dash or two of lavender bitters
- Finally, a somewhat secret ingredient (scroll down!)
The Secret Ingredient
St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur. Is it necessary? Not entirely. Does it make all the difference? In my opinion, absolutely! Alongside that extra touch of sweetness, it enriches the botanical flavor of the gin and lavender pairing. Elderflower Liqueur is a must have in my bar!
Frequently Asked Questions
My favorite non-alcoholic gin is the Ritual Zero Proof Non-Alcoholic Gin. Elderberry tea is also a great option! Brew enough for 6 ounces, chill, and use in place of the Gin. As for the Elderflower liqueur, you can use an elderflower syrup, they do not have alcohol.
Vodka is always an excellent substitute for Gin, particularly one that has been botanically infused.
Not posted but it's easy peezy! Instead of combining everything in a pitcher, combine it all in a blender (ice included). Place the lid on the blender tightly, hit blend, and voila!

Assemble the Cocktail

- Garnish with a lavender sprig and a slice of lemon. Enjoy!
Notes
Optional add on: Top off your cocktail with a splash of prosecco or club soda for a touch of bubbles!
If you've added as much lavender simple syrup as your taste buds can handle but the lemonade is still too tart for you, you can absolutely use regular simple syrup to get to your desired level of sweetness.
