Enjoy a sip of sunshine in a glass! This boozy lavender lemonade cocktail is the perfect blend of zesty lemons, aromatic lavender, and a cheeky splash of your favorite Gin. Perfect for sunny afternoons, alfresco gatherings, or just because you deserve a refreshing treat on a hot day. Cheers 🥂!


Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Lavender Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons culinary lavender buds

For the Boozy Lemonade

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, strained
  • 4 1/2 cups water
  • 6 ounces Gin or Vodka
  • 2 ounces Elderflower liqueur
  • 4 dashes Lavender Bitters
  • Ice cubes

(For a Single Cocktail)

  • 1 1/2 ounces Gin or Vodka
  • 1/2 ounce Elderflower liqueur (I used St. Germain)
  • 4 ounces chilled lavender lemonade
  • Dash of lavender bitters
  • Ice cubes


Instructions

Make the Lavender Simple Syrup 

  1. In a small pot, bring sugar and water to a boil, stirring frequently, until sugar is dissolved. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 1 more minute. Remove from heat.
  2. Add the lavender buds. Let steep for 30 minutes. 
  3. Strain the syrup to remove the buds. Let cool completely. Store in an sealed, airtight container until ready to use. 

Make the Boozy Lavender Lemonade

  1. Fill a large pitcher halfway up with ice. Pour in all ingredients for the boozy lemonade and stir to mix. 
  2. Add in the lavender syrup a half of a cup at a time. Do a taste test after each addition. Continue to add the syrup until you've reached your desired sweetness level (I added about 1 cup).* 

Assemble the Cocktail

  1. Pour boozy lavender lemonade into your favorite glass over ice. 
  2. Garnish with a lavender sprig and a slice of lemon. Enjoy!

Notes

Optional add on: Top off your cocktail with a splash of prosecco or club soda for a touch of bubbles!

If you've added as much lavender simple syrup as your taste buds can handle but the lemonade is still too tart for you, you can absolutely use regular simple syrup to get to your desired level of sweetness.
