The holidays are upon us my friends and I've decided to try something new this year: an Aberdeen's Kitchen holiday gift guide for the home cook! TBH I was actually going to do this last year but the whole third trimester thing kinda threw all my plans out the window. In any case, better late than never right?? So! Scroll on through for some of my kitchen favorites.
Stocking Stuffers
Holiday Gift Guide: Stocking Stuffers
- Craft Cocktail Kit - I mean, need I say more? Plus, they have different flavors! But the Hot Toddy on a crisp, winter evening while you're finishing up in the kitchen ? Done and done.
- Tea Infuser - To make those morning cups of caffeine absolutely adorable ☕️.
- Bitters Gift Set - One of my favorite bitters brands (the lavender flavor in particular is my go to for a glass of champs).
- Gold Serving Spoons - Dress up your salad with this fancy serving set 🥗!
- Wool Wine Markers - I have a horrible habit of just grabbing a glass, assuming it's mine, and taking a nice big sip, especially while running around in the kitchen. These help, plus they're SO cute. My mom actually bought them first and I'm not ashamed to say I immediately copied her.
- Measuring Spoons - To add pizzaz to everyday baking!
- Finishing Salt - Speaking of pizzaz, grab a box of this and pretend to be "Salt Bae" while garnishing some avocado toast. You'll feel fabulous I promise.
- Cozy Holiday Candle - No Holiday gift guide is complete without a festive candle 🕯!
- Salt and Pepper Cellars - The swankiest/easiest way to store salt and pepper right on the counter top.
Under $50!
Holiday Gift Guide: Under $50!
- Cast Iron Skillet - A must have. Lodge is my favorite uncoated cast iron skillet. SO many different options, but for those just getting started, this version is a great, universal option 🍳.
- Holiday Extracts Set - Neilsen-Massey extracts and flavorings are my baking go-to's, especially their vanilla paste.
- 9 Inch Pie Pan - A low priced Staub? Done! Really though, I love this pie pan because of clean, white edging, standard dish size, and even-baking habit.
- Plant Terrarium - For the kitchen window sill so you can look at beautiful things while you cook 🪴!
- Pumpkin Mini Cocette - Serve your first holiday course (our's is always tortilla soup at Thanksgiving, and albondigas soup at Christmas) in a festive, personal cocette.
- Ceramic Baking Dish Set - Another wonderfully priced Staub set with a nice, clean edge and even-baking habit.
- Cooking Utensils - One of the most used, yet underrated kitchen tools. Why not get some pretty ones that last??
- Electronic Wine Opener - I struggle horrendously with standard wine openers. Honestly it’s embarrassing. Ergo, an electronic wine opener for the win.
- Cooking Gadgets Set - Another one of the most used and underrated kitchen tools. Do yourself a favor and get a pretty set of these as well. Your heart will be happy every time you grab the can opener 💖.
Splurges (You Deserve It!)
Holiday Gift Guide: Splurges
- Instant Pot - Hands down my favorite kitchen appliance. You can sauté AND slow cook/pressure cook in it, turning so many multi step recipes into one pot meals. Also it cuts cooking time in half. In love 😍.
- Wüsthof Knife Block Set - Perfect for those home cooks getting used to the kitchen. Don't want to get the whole set? Stick with the chef's knife to get started.
- Dutch Oven - The big one. The must have. I've run the gamut on dutch ovens and the Staub is worth the big bucks 🥘.
- Ember Mug - No microwave? No worries! Keep that cup of Joe warm and toasty all day long. Also, even if you do have a microwave, you know how your coffee tastes gross after warming it up in there? This is the solution 👍🏻.
- Stand Mixer - A kitchen staple. It's a great way to help keep things hands off. Plus, so many attachments and ways to customize!
- Large Skillet - Another item I've run the gamut on, and All-Clad is what's up. Cooks so evenly, lasts forever, worth the splurge.
- Vitamix Blender - I've tried several blenders over the years and without a doubt this is the best one. Worth every penny.
- Nespresso Vertuo - I cannot live without my Nespresso. Received it as a gift years ago and it's still one of my absolute favorite kitchen appliances. Major plus? The pods are recyclable !
- Breville Smart Oven - It fits a turkey 🦃. Oh and it's an air fryer. I'm obsessed with mine. Need I say more?
