It's SATURDAY! Ready to get this party started? Let's kick off the weekend right with a 3 ingredient classic Negroni cocktail.
Yes you read that right. Only 3 ingredients plus a little orange peel garnish if you so desire (I also added a brandied cherry because I love them and I want them in pretty much every cocktail 🤷🏼♀️). An ounce each of your favorite gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari. That's all it takes!
Side note, how pretty is this drink? It's so simple to make and so gloriously ruby red. A quick and easy show stopper that's sure to impress your happy hour/dinner guests!
If you want to get real fancy with it, you can try and "smoke" the orange peel for an authentic, speak easy vibe. Unfortunately, I don't know how to slash don't have the patience so I just throw the orange peel in the glass and go for it 🤣.
PS. Aren't those perfectly square ice cubes fabulous??? I feel super swanky whenever I use them in a beverage. I used a silicone small ice cube tray but I also have the large ice cube tray size and now I'm spoiled for life.

Classic Negroni Cocktail
- Total Time: 5 minutes
- Yield: Serves 1
Description
Stir up this ruby red, gin based Italian cocktail with just 3 ingredients and a slice of orange peel for garnish!
Ingredients
- 1 ounce gin
- 1 ounce sweet vermouth
- 1 ounce campari
- Orange peel
- Ice
Instructions
- Add a handful of ice to a cocktail shaker. Pour all ingredients (except orange peel) into the shaker.
- Stir together until the outside of the shaker frosts over.*
- Strain into a tumbler glass over ice. Garnish with an orange peel.* Enjoy cold!
Notes
Traditionally, the Negroni is stirred but if you want to make sure you've really mixed the ingredients, go ahead and cover the shaker and then shake until it frosts over.
I also added a brandied cherry. Not a traditional Negroni garnish but delicious!
