It's November!!! And we're going to start it off nice and easy with a tasty beverage. It has been truly rainy (quite a bit more splashing around than our usual Seattle mist effect), complete with windy gusts and skies so dark you'd think it was night time out if you didn't know better! So, inspired by this crazy weather, here's one of my favorite beverages, a Classic Dark 'N Stormy.
I'm so excited it's November. Firstly, because Thanksgiving. A holiday where we eat ALL the food. Secondly, because my birthday is this month, I'm finally. going. to. CANLIS!!! I can't even I'm so excited. I drive by it all the time on my way home and have been dying to go since I moved to Seattle. It's one of the only (maybe the only?) restaurants in this city with a dress code ???????? and the food looks like art. Best birthday present I could ask for!
That's a foodie for you. Anyhoo, about that Classic Dark 'N Stormy. A ridiculously easy drink to make, it's made of just 4 ingredients! Ginger beer, dark rum, lime juice and your favorite bitters. Serve over ice, stir, and enjoy!
I'm a big fan of citrusy beverages and love using ginger beer in a cocktail. The sweetness of the rum is cut perfectly by the spicy flavor of the ginger beer. Ergo, Classic Dark 'N Stormy is one of my favorites. Figured it was about time I share this simple, easy recipe with you! Although, I'm going to have to be 100% honest, I quite frequently, as in all the time, switch out the rum in this beverage for my favorite whiskey ????. Don't judge. Either way, it is delicious, refreshing, and fits the mood outside perfectly. So stir up a Classic Dark 'N Stormy for your at home happy hour and enjoy the Autumn storms!
