Description
Spice up your meals with a quick, simple, and delicious five minute chimichurri sauce! A perfectly balanced blend of fresh herbs and garlic, chimichurri is a tantalizingly delicious sauce that adds a touch of Latin flair to your favorite dinner recipes.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup flat leaf parsley, roughly chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh oregano, roughly chopped
- 2 tablespoons green onion, roughly chopped
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced (about 3-4 cloves)
- 1 teaspoon chili pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- Coarse salt, ground black pepper to taste*
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together all ingredients, adding salt and pepper to taste. That's it! Chimichurri sauce can be used immediately but is best if left to rest for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to combine before using.
Notes
The amount of salt and pepper I add to chimichurri usually depends on what I'm going to serve it with - specifically if its accompanying dish is already seasoned with salt and pepper. Generally, less is more here! Add a pinch of each to start (1/8 teaspoon) and go from there.
