Description

This melt in your mouth steak recipe is marinated overnight and then broiled for just 15 minutes. The perfect, hands off steak dinner!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 lbs London broil steak (top round steak, flank steak, topside steak)
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, oregano, sage, chives, parsley, thyme), roughly chopped for serving
  • Pat of butter for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine the steak and all the ingredients for the marinade in a gallon sized Ziploc bag. Shake vigorously to coat the meat.
  2. Chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours and up overnight (12-16 hours) to allow steak to tenderize.
  3. When ready to cook, grease a baking dish large enough to hold size of your steak. Turn broiler on high (450˚F-500˚F) for 10 minutes. While oven is heating, remove steak from marinade and place in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Broil steak for 5-7 minutes on each side (up to 8 minutes for an extra thick steak), until the center of steak reaches an internal temperature of 125˚F to 130˚F for medium rare.*
  5. Once steak reaches desired internal temperature, remove from heat and let rest for 10 minutes. Once rested, slice against the grain and sprinkle with desired fresh herbs and a pat of butter to serve.

Notes

Times will vary depending on your oven. Use a meat thermometer for accurate temperatures!
