Cucumber Basil Gin Smash

Description

Simple, quick, and refreshing bubbly green gin cocktail with fresh muddled cucumber and basil. A wonderful light alternative for a festive St. Patrick's Day beverage!


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 ounces gin (I used Bombay Sapphire)
  • 1/4 cup diced cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons basil leaves
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons simple syrup
  • Splash of club soda
  • Cucumber slices, lemon slices, and basil leaves for garnish


Instructions

  1. Using a muddler, smash gin, diced cumber and basil leaves together in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add lemon juice, and simple syrup. Secure lid and shake briefly to combine.
  3. Fill a glass about ¾ the way with ice. Pour mixture over the ice.
  4. Fill the last ¼ of the glass with a splash of club soda. Garnish with some basil leaves, and a  couple cucumber and lemon slices. Add more simple syrup as desired.
