Description

The BEST ever, finger lickin' good game day spicy chicken wings made in the air fryer in HALF the time (oven baked method also included)!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1 cup hot sauce (I used Frank’s Red Hot)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Fresh parsley and chives, roughly chopped for garnish
  • Carrots, celery, blue cheese dressing for serving

Instructions

Air Fryer Method

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375˚F. Grease the air fryer basket with no stick spray and prepare a rimmed baking sheet with foil to catch drippings (less mess!).
  2. Pat chicken wings dry with a paper towel. In a large bowl, toss chicken with olive oil, garlic, cumin, paprika, cayenne, salt and pepper. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  3. Place basket and prepared tray in air fryer. Bake chicken wings for 25 minutes, flipping over halfway through. Turn the air fryer up to 425˚F. Cook another 6-8 minutes until browned and crispy. Remove from heat.
  4. While chicken is baking, whisk together hot sauce and melted butter in a large bowl.
  5. Toss the cooked chicken wings together in a bowl with the sauce until completely coated.
  6. Plate wings and drizzle with more hot sauce as desired for heat. Garnish with parsley and chives and serve with carrot sticks, celery sticks, blue cheese dressing, and plenty of napkins!

Oven Baked Method

  1. Preheat oven to 450˚F. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat chicken wings dry with a paper towel. In a large bowl, toss chicken with olive oil, garlic, cumin, paprika, cayenne, salt and pepper. Lay in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake chicken wings for 45-50 minutes, flipping over halfway through.
