Description

Prepare for a bewitching night with this spellbinding purple Halloween hocus pocus cocktail. Crafted with gin and Creme de Violette liqueur, this enchanting concoction is the perfect drink for any spooky October get together!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 ounces of your favorite gin (I used Purple Empress Gin for extra color)
  • 1 ounce Creme de Violette
  • 1 ounce Dry Vermouth
  • 1/2 ounce lemon juice
  • Club soda
  • Optional: Purple food dye*
  • Garnish: orange, black, and purple sanding sugar for sugared rim, purple edible glitter for swirl effect

Instructions

  1. Optional sugared rim garnish: Pour desired sanding sugar onto a plate and spread to cover. Moisten the edge of a martini glass with a lemon wedge and dip into the sugar plate. Set aside.
  2. Add a handful of ice to a mixing glass. Pour in gin, creme de violette, dry vermouth, lemon juice, and a couple drops of food dye if using.
  3. Gently stir together, add more food dye if desired for color.
  4. Pour into prepared martini glass  and top with a splash of club soda. Add edible glitter as desired for a spookily fun twist!

Notes

I mixed two drops red food dye and two drops blue food dye into the shaker with the rest of the ingredients. However, this cocktail is purple without the addition of food dye so you don't have to add it!
